OWNER OPERATORS WANTED

DEDICATED INTERNAL FREIGHT • STRONG PAY • MIDWEST OPERATION

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of CDL-A experience and own a semi-tractor capable of pulling a 53-ft dry van trailer.
Truck model year 2020 or newer is preferred; slightly older trucks may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Dragon Xpress is seeking professional, reliable, and transparent Owner Operators to
join our dedicated Midwest operation. This position offers internal company freight,
repeat lanes, strong daily gross, predictable schedules, and driver-first dispatch.

PAY & COMPENSATION

  • 90% of gross line-haul revenue
  • 100% of fuel surcharge
  • 100% of all accessorials
  • $2.39 – $2.90 per mile, depending on lane
  • $1,200+ GROSS PER DAY on most days
  • Around 2 loads per day on average
  • $3,000 – $5,000 NET per week, depending on how you run
  • Weekly direct deposit every Friday
  • NO forced dispatch – you choose your loads
  • Fuel card provided (typically saves $0.30–$0.80 per gallon, depending on location)

This is a DEDICATED INTERNAL FREIGHT OPERATION supported by company-owned
facilities.

  • ND Paper owns and operates the factories in: o Biron, Wisconsin (Mill) o Sturtevant, Wisconsin Because these facilities are constantly producing, freight is steady and consistent year-round.
Freight Flow
  • Recyclable and scrap paper materials are hauled: o From Sturtevant, WI o From Chicagoland customers o To the Biron, WI mill • From the Biron mill, large paper rolls are hauled: o Back to Sturtevant, WI o Or to Chicagoland customers, including: ? Alsip, IL
    • Bolingbrook, IL
    • West Chicago, IL
    • NO downtown Chicago
    • We also service dedicated customers in Ohio o Strong-paying backhaul rates from Ohio when returning toward the terminal
INTERNAL VS BROKERED FREIGHT
  • 50%–75% INTERNAL company freight
  • 25%–50% brokered loads, used only for efficiency and repositioning
  • Broker loads are not spot-market chasing and are strong-payingThis structure helps minimize deadhead and keep trucks loaded consistently.
START TIMES & SCHEDULE
  • Drivers living close to the terminal start in the morning
  • Typical start time: between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
  • Predictable schedule for local and regional runs
  • Excellent option for drivers who want daily consistency
REAL LANE EXAMPLES ($ / MILE)
  • Wisconsin Rapids, WI -> Alsip, IL 250 miles = $613 all-in @ $2.45 per mile
  • Sturtevant, WI -> Biron, WI 190 miles = $550 all-in @ $2.90 per mile 
  • Wisconsin Rapids, WI -> West Chester, OH 617 miles = $1,475 all-in @ $2.39 per mile 

These are real, repeat lanes, not one-time spot loads.

DEDUCTIONS & REQUIRED INSURANCE
Weekly Deductions

  • Trailer rental: $300 / week
  • Liability & cargo insurance: $300 / week
  • ELD: $15 / weekSecurity Deposit
  • $500 per week for the first 4 weeks only
  • Fully refundable
  • Returned if you stop working with us, provided contractual obligations are met
Required Driver Insurance (carried by driver)
  • Bobtail insurance:
Minimum $1,000,000 coverage Estimated $8–$15 per week
  • Occupational accident insurance: Estimated $35–$40 per week, depending on coverage and provider
Estimated Total Weekly Deductions
  • After first four weeks: approximately $660–$700 per week

REFERRAL BONUS
  • $100 upfront
  • $400 after 3 weeks, once the referred driver stays on
  • Total referral bonus: $500
OWNER OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS
  • CDL Class A
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Good driving record
  • Truck model year 2020 or newer
  • Professional communication and reliability
